Half Asian Girl
You’ve probably heard of half Asian beauties such as Nicole Scherzinger, Kristin Kreuk and Marie Digby, and you might have thought: what is it with Asians? How come they are silently breaking into mainstream with their enviably versatile looks, skin, and slim frame? What makes them click? Or better yet—what makes them stand out?
Well, Asians, known for their relatively golden skin—which may be prettily tanned or just radiantly white, are all the rave nowadays, especially when they’re not just pure Asians but a breed of another blood. Generally believed and perceived to be “exotic”, girls with Asian blood are just treated differently, especially by Caucasians. They think Asians have this mysterious air around them that perhaps remind them of orientalism—something that is unique yet common to the Asian culture but totally new and unusual to the Westerners.
It’s not also just about the looks. Half Asian girls also have quirky personalities—especially half Korean and Japanese girls. This youthful and playful side just naturally shines out from within them. If you cannot really imagine that, try searching up Hallyu stars especially pop idols like Girls Generation (who by the way have their own share of half Asians as well: Jessica and Tiffany). You may also look back into classic Japanese anime characters or simply the rising cosplay (costume play) stars. From the way they dress, to the way they act really cute, everything just speaks of charm.
As a reason to their quirky personalities, half Asians have a different humor. If it may be said, most half Asians actually end up loving their Asian humor more, simply because it is unforgivingly and downright hilarious. Perhaps, it’s only in the Eastern part of the world where jokes aren’t too sarcastic or too cold. As such, most half Asians aren’t afraid to show their fun side—they wouldn’t mind embarrassing themselves, even just for a light laugh. You might see this in their love for comedy skits, variety shows, and impersonations. Who else would not love those girls who show off an amazing list of impersonations (including Mickey Mouse) like the half-Japanese half-British TV personality Becky?
Interestingly though, half Asians are also known to be a bit conservative than their pure Caucasian counterparts. Although they have adopted the Western culture, they still have retained their Eastern roots, which somehow keep them grounded. This perhaps comes from the fact that most Asians, especially the elders, have not totally embraced liberalism. Being women themselves, they have to present themselves uprightly and modestly. However, this conservative image has also begun to deteriorate as more half Asians come into terms with feminine liberalism and the sexual revolution. Not only were they envisioned as beauties; they were also labeled with derogatory words that usually follow the adjective “hot”. Nonetheless, half Asians have become more appealing to the eyes of strangers, albeit some negativity.
Not only have these half Asians start to dominate the mainstream; they have also caused a following among their Asian countrymen. This is not only because of their popularity nowadays—it’s more of them being inspiring, especially in speaking foreign languages, particularly English. At the end of the day, it’s not about looks after all, but the personality and charm they exude.
